Syllabus :-

Railway JE exam is conducted online every year for thousands of students who aspire their career in Railways. It usually has questions from following fields

Below is the detailed Railway JE Syllabus and exam pattern. It includes following subject wise topics. All the important topics, which you will be required to cover are given below.

  1. General Intelligence & Reasoning – General Intelligence & Reasoning is one of the important topics in RRB JE syllabus. The important topics for JE General Intelligence & Reasoning section are as follows
    Number Series, Syllogism, Input-Output, Coding-decoding, Direction sense test, Blood relations, Arithmetical reasoning, figural classification, Arithmetic number series, Non-verbal series, Coding and decoding, Statement
    conclusion, Word Building, Seating arrangement, Clock, Calendar, Similarities and differences, Analogy, Space visualization / orientation Decision making, Visual memory etc.
  2. General Awareness – RRB Syllabus 2019 for Junior Engineer post have General Awareness Section which can be improved by reading and keeping aware of current affairs.  Question will be asked from Indian History, Indian Polity, Current Events, Geography, Economy focus will be on Current, National & International Events, Banking, Sports. Some Questions from Finance Marketing can be ask in the
    exam, Questions will be based on news related to Railway Rail Budget, New Technologies & Reform in Indian Railway.
  3. Arithmetic – RRB Syllabus for JE Arithmetic section includes the following topics. Practicing these topics will surely help to score well in Exam.
    Algebra, Basic Algebra Factors & Simplification, Polynomials, Arithmetic, Simple & Compound Interest, Installments, Taxation, Shares & Dividends, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Time, Distance & Work, Profit & Loss, Pipes & Cisterns, Mensuration, Problem on Ages, Investment, Data Interpretation, Use of Tables and Graphs, Histogram, Frequency, Polygon, Bar-Diagram Pie-Chart, Pictorial Graph etc.
  4. RRB JE Mechanical Engineering- Complete JE Mechanical syllabus:Theory of Machines, Kinematics of Machine, Engineering Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer,
    Thermodynamics, Power Engineering, Steam, Tables, Thermodynamics cycles, I.C., Engines cycles, Casting, Machining and Machine Tool, Operations, Metrology and Inspection etc. 
  5. JE Electrical Engineering – Complete RRB JE Electrical syllabus: Basics of circuit & Power Electronics, Electrical and Electronic Measurements, Analog and Digital Electronics, Circuits
    and Measurement Systems, Signals and Systems, Electrical Machines, Power and Control Systems etc.
  6. JE Junior Engineer (IT) – Here is the complete RRB JE IT syllabus: MS Office, Computer fundamentals & organization, C, C++ & Java language, Information systems, DBMS, System
    programming, Operating systems, UNIX, SAD, Data & Network communication, Web technology & programming, Software Engineering, Environment & Pollution Control etc.
  7. JE Electronics Engineering – Here is the complete RRB JE Electronics syllabus: Electronic Devices, Energy bands, Signal & System, Wireless Communication, Carrier transport in silicon, Diffusion
    current, Drift current, mobility, and resistivity, Generation and recombination of carriers, Junctions, Diodes, Tunnel,
    Analog and Digital Circuits, & Communication, EMFT, Basics of Signal & Systems etc. 
  8. Environment & Pollution Control – Questions which are expected from topics of Environment, Pollution, Sources,
    and Control Methods etc.
  9. Engineering Drawing / Graphics- Questions will be asked from basics engineering of Drawing and Graphics

 

RRB JE Exam Pattern

RRB JE Exam includes 2 stages Objective type (Multiple Choice Questions) of computer based test (CBT). Check the
Railway JE Exam pattern below to have a clear idea of the number of questions asked form each topic.


CBT 1 of RRB JE consists 100 questions for 90 minutes that includes four sections mathematics, reasoning, general
awareness,and general science.


RRB JE CBT 2 have 150 questions for 120 min which also includes 50 questions for general
awareness, general science, computer and environment while 100 questions for technical
abilities.


There will be Negative Marking of 1/3 Marks in the written exam.

Candidate will be eligible for next round if the get the minimum qualifying marks as 40% for UR, 30% for OBC, 30% for SC and 25% for ST.
