During her tenure as a student leader with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at Delhi University. Rashmi Upadhyay made notable strides in enhancing student engagement, welfare, and representation. Her leadership was marked by a series of impactful initiatives and achievements
Rashmi played a crucial role in amplifying student voices within the university’s decision-making bodies. She was instrumental in organizing regular forums and feedback sessions, ensuring that student concerns were effectively communicated to the administration. Rashmi spearheaded a campaign to address issues related to hostel facilities and student safety near her college. In early 20’s ABVP organized series of protests and meetings with university officials, leading to significant improvements in hostel infrastructure, including upgraded sanitation facilities and enhanced security measures, where she,along with her team mates from college participated actively. Her work also included advocating for increased mental health resources and counseling services, which were subsequently expanded.
Recognizing the importance of holistic development, Rashmi launched various educational and cultural programs. Upadhyay, surprisingly told that even after fifteen years, when she called the librarian sir, Mr.Dubey of her Vivekananda College from Mumbai to tell him about the problem of a girl student, he recognized Rashmi and addressed her “Neta”, which he used to Named her during college day. Infact Dubey ji also helped that student.
